 CRITICAL THINKING DISCUSS EACH OF THE FOLLOWING.

1) Reread the section on corruption in the Reading. What do all acts of corruption have in common?

A) Acts of corruption have in common that they are carried out by people in search of money or for lack of it in communities where there is extreme poverty

Do you think it is possible to end corruption, or do you feel that it is a part of human nature?

Use specific examples in your discussion.

A) To end corruption is something very difficult, many people do it to try to survive while others do it out of ambition, such as the theft of food in Colombian schools, ambition is part of human nature and who does not know how to control their nature ends up thinking only of the individual good

 

2) What are some of the causes of poverty, and what are its effects?

A) The causes of poverty are inequality and corruption in governments which cause harmful effects on the population such as corruption on a smaller scale, lack of opportunities, violence among others.

3) In your opinion, why do people engage in acts of terrorism? Is terrorism an expression of power or powerlessness

and frustration? Provide examples to support your opinion.

A) Terrorism is an expression of impotence and frustration, it can be seen in the Middle East where women are murdered when they do not submit to the decisions of men, they want to show power but it is noticeable that it is impotence because they do not have total control.

4) What reasons do people have to hate other groups? Is hatred of another group ever understandable, appropriate,

or justified? Explain the reasons for your opinion.

A) people hate extremist groups for their way of acting but above all for their way of interpreting religion, the vast majority of terrorist groups base themselves on their way of seeing the relationship to attack people they believe are against the mandates stipulated in his religious book

5) .Do you see a single problem connecting all four issues in the Reading? If so, what is it?

A) There is only one problem, which derives from the other 4 and it is human nature, we are imperfect beings and many people do not know how to control themselves and allow themselves to be carried out by their thoughts and ambitions
